The surgeon makes an inspection!

The owner of the house - a famous British scientist took a photo of me when I was working and signed it for me so:

When the EU was still a distant prospect for us, like many Poles I decided to make my mark on the local job market. I was asked to find the cause of a leak in a historic Victorian house in central England. The local roofers were not able to do it. They proposed an expensive repair to the roof, which as in England was covered with good lead sheeting. The leak could be seen two floors below the roof. Strangely enough, it was leaking regardless of the rain - that is, it was pouring from this ceiling before, during and long after the rain, straight onto the books of the hosts, professors of a renowned university. It rains often in Great Britain...

I cut a hole in the rotten ceiling and saw water oozing down the joists of the upper floor.

I found a surprising reason for the leak: the rain was running down the glass of the plastic window, the water got between the window sash and the profile, then through the holes drilled for the hinges and accumulated in the profile - like in a cistern and from there through the mounting holes it seeped below...

After a precise diagnosis and successful repair, my reputation in this university town rose enormously and since then as an outstanding specialist in unusual matters, I have been recommended from house to house, one could say "from department to department".
